@Cam

Of course you made this first. I never developed a saber app for the iPhone. However, I made saber apps for <a href='http://isnoop.net/blog/category/made-by-isnoop/macsaber/' rel="nofollow">Mac laptops</a> and <a href="http://isnoop.net/blog/category/made-by-isnoop/wiisaber/" rel="nofollow">the Wiimote and Mac</a>.

If you do some reading, you'll find that the icon posted above was created long before your app was written. In fact, I had it created by professionals at Lot23 in May of 2006.

I've seen your app, though. It looks pretty fun. You should download the source for MacSaber to get some more sounds and a slightly more sophisticated motion detection algorithm.

Cheers!

It would be amazing if you create iSaber for iPhone!
With the release of the iPhone 2, everybody will have one.. As a result, it would be impossible to impress your girlfriend with your phone since she has the same one.

Playing Star Wars with this awesome device could make her say "wow" at least :p

Hiya! since there are request to create the isaber for the iphone, had there been any request to create the isaber for windows mobile device since now accelerometers are starting to pop-up in newer devices such as the recently-released HTC Touch Diamond and the upcoming Samsung Omnia??

Would you consider creating it for a windows mobile device?

@Fred,

Looks like you're on the verge of something good right now. Much closer than I am, anyway. I've sent you the MacSaber source which includes the sound kit and a whole bunch of force logic to give some really satisfying sound effects.

Feel free to run with it and I'll get back to finishing the drywall in my TV room. =)

Hmm, thanks for clearing that up. I'm sorry if I seemed really, well, pissed off in that post. The funny thing about me and programming for the iPhone is that I have started around 4 different projects and each time someone else had been working on exactly the same thing!

On the other blogs the iSaber app is actually attributed directly to you, unless I've read what them incorrectly.

On another note, would you mind if I used the sounds that you used in MacSaber for the program I'm working on? I should have come to you beforehand and asked if I could use them, but that is my fault. I had found another set of sounds through googling but their quality was not nearly as good as the ones included in MacSaber.

Finally, awesome job on MacSaber! I've had loads of fun swinging my laptop around and nearly breaking it over the past few days. Very, very nice!
